FOOD TECHNOLOGY LAB FACILITIES:
1. Food chemistry lab
COURSE DESCRIPTION
(i) . The Food Chemistry Laboratory course provides an experimental experience to the basic scientific principles to food systems and practical applications to the course content of Food Chemistry.
(ii). Students perform experiments that demonstrate the chemical/biochemical reactions of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and other constituents in fresh and processed foods with respect to food quality.
(iii). Reaction conditions and processes that affect color, flavor, and texture of food are emphasized.
2. Food microbiology lab
Course learning outcomes:
(i). Students will gain knowledge about the different cell organelles of microorganisms and their detailed functions.
(ii). Students will also study the growth and control of microbes as well as different bacteriological techniques involved in microbiology.
(iii). Students will learn about the bio molecules by studying their structures and types.
