Vision

The vision of Department of Civil Engineering, MAMCE is to advance knowledge and educate students in Civil Engineering and its related fields that will best serve the nation and the world in the 21st century. The department is committed to generating, disseminating, and preserving knowledge, and to working with others to bring this knowledge to bear on the world's great challenges. It is dedicated to providing its students with an education that combines rigorous academic study and the excitement of discovery with the support and intellectual stimulation of a diverse campus community. We seek to develop in each member of the community the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively, and effectively for the betterment of humankind.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Civil Engineering, MAMCE is to provide quality education to prepare nationally competitive undergraduate students for a successful career in civil engineering; to provide advanced skills and knowledge in state-of-the-art research and design in sub-areas of civil engineering for graduate students; and to provide service to the engineering profession, and the public.

History

Department of Civil Engineering the latest of branches in MAMCE was started in the academic year 2009-10. The discipline deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works such as bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings.

The Department of Civil Engineering is recogonised as "Centre for Research" by Anna University.

The Department of Civil Engineering is fully equipped with all essential laboratory facilities for Civil Engineering.

The Department of Civil Engineering offers an ideal academic environment enriched with experienced faculties.

Association activity like CAPCEAN (Creative Architecture Planning Civil Engineering Association Nest), bring out the technical creativity in the students. Active functioning of Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) students chapter is active conducting various workshop and seminars.

Ability to understand and apply differential equations, integrals, matrix theory, probability theory of Civil engineering problems

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES

Process a good communication skill with ability to work collaboratively in groups, lead teams, understand their professional and ethical responsibilities, thus contributing immensely with heuristic approach.
