History
The department of Computer Applications was established in the year 2009 with an intake of 60. The major asset of the department is well - dedicated and experienced faculty members who strive to impart quality education to the students to become eminent effective and dynamic energetic software professionals. The department encourages the faculty members to undertake research activities and professional growth of students. All of our faculty members completed their Master's degree and one of them pursuing Ph.D. The average experience of our faculty is above five years. Besides, the retention ratio of the staff members is effectively fair. The course offers several areas of specialization as an elective paper with advanced curriculum that has been developed and delivered by experienced academicians and industry professionals. This helps the students to abreast with market world challenges.

INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES
The department set up with Wi-Fi facility throughout the campus for internet and LAN Networking. The student and faculty can browse internet for 24 hours inside the campus.
The department set up video conference facilities to share expert guest lecture, industry institution interaction among colleges for enriching knowledge from their campus itself.
The digital board is used as teaching aid through which the faculty class room presentation can be viewed and stored by student on their laptop then and there.
The department have well qualified faculty with expertise in various fields like Computer Graphics, Distributed Computing, Operating System etc...
The Department organized One day Workshop and planning to organize various International & National level, Workshops & Seminars etc...

Dr. M. Nazreen Banu and Prof. S. Tajvar Furzana, DoCA were the finalist of Inspire - The Faculty Excellence Award [Technical] on 06.06.2014, at Infosys, Chennai.
Highlight: Out of 47 artifacts from 47 faculty teams for Content Guru and 12 finalists at the DC Event from partnering colleges of Infosys, Tamil Nadu Zone, M. A .M. College of Engineering, Tiruchirappalli team of Dr. M. Nazreen Banu and Prof. S. Tajvar Furzana was one among them. The DC SPoC and CC Anchor, Mr. Roy Anthony George specially complemented the above duo as the only team for uploading artifacts according to Infosys - Campus Connect standards.

MCA department organized a "National Level Technical Symposium - Knotz '14"on 26.09.2014 at Kalam auditorium. Around 250 students from 18 Engineering and Arts & Science Colleges participated in the symposium. Overall shield was bagged by Holy Cross College, Tiruchirappalli. Dr. Gopinath Ganapathy, Director, Bharathidasan University Technology Park, Khajamalai Campus, Tiruchirappalli was the chief guest. Dr. Mohamed Nizam, Secretary and Correspondent gave the presidential address and Dr. Maluk Mohamed, Principal of MAMCE felicitated the gathering.
Activity conducted under NSS, Tech Club, Exnora, Sports, Cultural Club etc.
All students of DoCA undertook a "Mass Campaign" by securing the support and signature from their neighbours spreading the message of unity, safety and security to fellow countrymen in the eve of "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas" commemorating the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 150th Anniversary on 31.10. 2014
